I cannot remember where I found this image, but I just saw it in my 'inspiration' folder and it immediately made a big smile creep onto my face on an otherwise boring, chaotic Monday morning. Balloons are so bright and cheerful they never fail to put me in a good mood. One of my all time favourite things! Apologies for not being able to give image credit.

the weather was amazing today in Perth, which is lucky, cos Harls decided he did not want to sleep! we had two walks to two different parks. the sun was shining, I even took off my cardi & felt it on my bare shoulders!

looking through the belinda black catering blog is inspiring the entertainer in me and making me think of great ideas for our next dinner party, something fun and casual always goes down well and what could possibly be better than a large paella, bamboo cutlery (less dishes to wash up!) and everyone digs in and serves themselves?! Just add a few caprioskas and that is a recipe for a perfect evening in my book.

Wedding upmarket

I had a beautiful day today with lovely Claire, we started the morning by going to the wedding upmarket fair at Mosmans. Got some really good inspiration and a nice glass of champagne and a cupcake! After that I wanted to show Claire where we are going to have our wedding, so we headed back. After all inspiration and talk we decided to have a bite to eat, and what would be better to end the day with than going to La Galette De France in Nedlands for some baguette, crepe and macaron. Thanks for a great day hun!

this is one of the only shots i took whilst down south last week, before the drama unfolded! this is mum and dad's backyard, what a view huh? it was a beautiful afternoon, and looking at this photo you could be mistaken to think it was a warm summer's day. it was a beautiful sunny day, but freezing cold! bring on summer i say!

i have been spending alot of time browsing etsy of late, and this is my latest purchase! knot & bow are a new york based company, that sell gorgeous stationery, craft and gift wrapping supplies! i want to use the string for wrapping and am imagining somehow stamping the brown kraft dots with something for wrapping customer's purchases from my store!

the coffee that saved me

harley had his first hospital visit on sunday, well, he actually had two hospital visits in one day. poor little man, he was so brave.

stuck at home for the week, i was wondering just how i was going to get by on my own, with my mum down south for the next fortnight. suffering a bad case of the monday morning blues after the terrible day we'd had on sunday, my dear friend kate came to the rescue with my morning coffee! what more could a girl ask for i ask? kate was my lifesaver.

sometimes, its the simple things that really make a difference. kate, you brightened my gloomy monday morning!

First wedding purchase

Engagement gift from C&Z

At our engagement party we got beautiful monogram bowls from C&Z, I have just adored Paloma’s Nest things since then! So when I saw their ring bearer bowls, I just knew that we needed to have one for our wedding. Very exciting – Our first wedding purchase!

More study

As part of the 7th photography assignment I was asked to select a photo of a photographer whose work I admire, and try to make a copy in the style of the original. This was a fun assignment and I took lots of photos and tried different lighting and angles. Once I had the images that I liked, I played around in photoshop and placed the two photographs next to each other. I quiet like the result! My choice of photographer was Lisa from With Style and Grace.

perth is moving on up...

good morning girlies

We are finally in the last month of our winter here in Australia - woohoo! Bring on summer and all that it brings - sandals, bbqs, festivals, beach - amongst others! One of the stores from the eastern states that is perfect for stocking up on all of your summer essentials is one of my faves, general pants co. on the few visits i have paid to melbourne & sydney i seem to always find more stuff than I can carry that I want to buy and now, finally finally, Perth is about to get its very own general pants co! By all accounts it will open on 13 august and will prove to be testing point for my holiday savings!

But - the store i read about in the weekend papers is the one I am now even more excited about! All you girls have gone on and on about this store, in multiple different countries, and i am yet to step foot into any of them! But now I will have my chance as Perth will have it's very own zara store in Perth by the end of the year! Bring it on!

Bike buddy

On the weekend Adam bought a new bike, so we had to go for a ride and try it out. We went to Kings Park, C&Z’s development site(very exciting) and to D&M’s house to see if our lovely friends were home. After no luck we decided to head back home because there were some dark threatening clouds coming our way. Luckily enough we got home just before it started to rain. I have to admit that I found it hard to keep up with Adam and his new flash bike, so Dee why don’t you mention to M that Adam would like a new bike buddy!
