A day at the track

I’m not sure if I can call being at the go kart track stylish, but here it is – A post about my Sunday at Cockburn Track. I made sure I had a large picnic with me as I thought that food could keep me occupied if I got horrible bored. I even played with the idea of packing a bottle of wine, but I stopped myself when I realised that alcohol and motor sport doesn’t really match. My plan was to sit in my chair around fumes and sweaty boys and study my photography, so I needed to keep level headed anyway. We arrived at the track and Adam showed me a corner that I could call my own, I set up my things - camera, books and food! For the next 10 hours I had a marathon of reading, taking photos of races, eating and falling asleep in my chair only to wake up when someone decided to rew their kart ridiculously loud. After a while I had enough and decided to go and have a look around and I got childishly excited when I found out that I could order hot chocolate with marshmallows at the canteen. I had three of them throughout the day! What was I thinking – Who needs wine when there is hot chocolate!! Adam (#2) did very well in the competition and it looked as though he was going to get 4th in his class in Australia, only to get taken out in the last lap in the last race. He was devastated. I had to stop myself when I realised that I was taking advantage of his emotions with my photography, I put my camera down as I saw his face through my lens, dug deep in my picnic bag and pulled out a bag of chocolate eggs. Things can only get better after a nice caramel chocolate Easter egg.
