These lovely buns are filled with a sugary almond spread and as you can see lots of cream. They are traditional "fastlagsbullar", we bake them during this time of the year in Sweden. Although I’m not in Sweden and have the excuse that I need the extra “layer” to keep warm, I love to make these here in Australia. It’s important to me to keep my Swedish traditions, even though sometimes it’s the totally wrong season for it. For example when I’m adamant to have my hot "glögg" in December because I know they have it at home, and its tradition right! The only difference is that my Swedish peers are trying to keep warm when it’s minus 10 degrees outside and I have at least 35 degrees here in Perth. Well, I see myself as a pretty good problem solver and my solution to this, a very powerful aircon!
